Fantastic picture Mr. Stump! Could you describe the location please? Anyone know PDX's approximate population in 1865 or what the city boundaries might have been?
curojo if you click on the Archives tap on the left there was a photo posted of the same location during a flood in June 1862, with a notation written on the photo that it was at Front & Washington. The flood photo appears on April 30, 2017.
Th Census of Portland shows the population in 1960 as 52,465 and had increased in 1870 to 90,928
Disregard the previous population number for Portland, those numbers are for what the number were for the State of Oregon.
Portland 1860 2,874
Portland 1870 8,293
