In 1906 Dan Moore the proprietor of the hotel and investors built a 600-700 foot pier out into the ocean. The pier was to have a "T" shaped wharf at the end measuring 25 x 100 feet with a structure at the end, and with the "Pacific Pier" illuminated with electric lights. Pacific storms damaged the pier several times and it only lasted about a decade.
