To think it’s Martin Luther King Day ( and photo was 1968) and we’re fighting for voting rights for all Americans. To me this is a sad portrait of our times.

What's sad is how divided we've become. If 9/11 were to happen today, one side would be for it and one against it. There'd be no coming together.
Democrats aren't blameless in the whole affair, but the bulk of the blame is on the MAGAts who have chosen to believe in virtually every lame brain theory from Flat Earth to faked Moon landings, to stolen elections.
In terms of voting rights for all I think we've regressed at least 60 years. For people who might have thought the fight for civil rights was over, sorry. In today's partisan-charged atmosphere it might have many more year to play out. If enough states roll back voting rights the struggle likely won't end in our lifetime(s).
Curojo, what's more likely to end, the way things are going, is our Constitutional Republic. Too many people seem willing to accept, if not outright demand, an autocracy. Without apology, I can say that the way things are going is exactly the way things were going in Germany almost a century ago.
