Now owned by Farmer Brothers. That's like falling from the penthouse through the bottom floor of the building.

An ad agency I used to work at did some work with them in the mid 90s, not long after the "Oh Boyds" commercials.

It was a really small agency and when they responded to some pitch we sent them we thought this was it. The sales and marketing people were really hyped to do something but budgets were non-existent so the job was pretty small. After working with them for a couple months the relationship quietly ended and with Starbucks rising fast I couldn't help but think they were starting a slide to their current position.

Went on a field trip to the Boyd's plant across from the KOIN studios back in fourth grade (1960) and was thoroughly impressed by the tasters sitting at a big spinning table slurping and spitting coffee. I'll never forget the smell of the roasting beans. Never been a coffee drinker, though.
