Doug Baker a fantastic newspaper columnist, like San Francisco's Herb Caen and Seattle's Emmett Watson, of their time. These talents could weave interesting stories of their people and places that kept you wanting to read regularly.
Baker's Dozen is the first thing I went to every evening in the Journal. I always looked for the radio call letters because Baker had the latest radio news. That was, of course, back in the day when radio was interesting and not just a bunch of computer-run jukeboxes and talkradio blowhards.
