If you Google "Asbestos Jewelry 1967" Worthpoint.com shows a article on school children making Asbestos Jewelry. Just mix 6 parts Asbestos Powder, 1 Part Wallpaper Paste and a little water, and then form your jewelry piece and then set out to dry, or place in a moderate oven.
Glad I was never in to those find of craft projects.
