"There's always a better show at Parkers Broadway" said the massive sign facing the street. I saw a show there in 1972, the theatre was in major disrepair at that time. Chopped up into three smaller auditoriums it was quite run-down and showing some rather unsavory films. She closed down for good soon after. She was a palace in her prime.
"The Great Dictator" opened at the Broadway with a charity benefit showing on November 8, 1940 for Doernbecher Hospital and the final showing was on November 15, 1940.
A true shame to have let it go so badly, then basically end her life by making three from one beauty. Another gorgeous movie palace event, gone for stupidity. It was an event to attend a show in the old beauties.
