Isn't the casino located in the area just north of the motel?

The Chinook Winds Casino is not housed in this building, but is nearby to the right of the hotel shown here.

Oh, Hemstreet is the Shilo connection, I'd forgot. Was it called The Dunes before the Shilo? For several years I attended conventions and we really enjoyed staying there when it was a Shilo property, perfect customer service, food, location and views!
The large building on far left (South) is the Lobby Check-In and Restaurant/Lounge with conference rooms below. The smaller building in middle of parking lot is their indoor pool. There's 6 buildings containing hotel rooms (now there is 1 Suites building South outside photo).
When Chinook Winds Casino opened in 1995, they constructed a huge tent to temporarily house the casino, located along the roadway where the field is. Then when they completed construction of the huge casino NE of field, the tent was removed. The Shilo sold the hotel/restaurant property and now Chinook Winds operates.

I know that in the late 1970’s/early 1980’s it was The Dunes. I traveled a sales territory that included the Central Oregon coast and stayed there many times.

Mark Hemstreet

Dunes was built & owned by Marks father, Jim. Years later Mark bought it & rebranded Shilo
