Nice photo of the neon on the old Journal building, but I wish some had capture what was once the world's neon sign right here in Stumptown that was on Healy Heights from 9/29/29 thru 1929.
We have all have seen the HOLLYWOOD sign in LA, but Portland had a sign that spelled out RICHFIELD (yes the oil company) that dwarfed the HOLLYWOOD sign with 60 foot tall letters and was 725 feet long with 3,000 feet of neon tube.
There is only one photo that captures this sign by accident, and you can view it as "Multnomah Historical-World's Largest Sign"
