TraveLodge Motels looked the same regardless of where you were, but I thought Tampa was in Central, not South Florida. Miami and Ft Myers are Southern Florida, Tampa and Orlando are Central Florida, Jacksonville is North Florida, and Tallahassee and everything west is Panhandle Florida.
I suppose it doesn't matter much since only Orlando among them will survive when the Thwaites Glacier crumbles off Antarctica into the Southern Ocean.

This is Tampa so it would be west-central FL. The motel is still there although it’s called University Inn as it’s by the U of Tampa Campus.
Nice area west of downtown. This seems to be one of the few 1960s motels that isn’t a flop house now.
