This photo appeared in the Oregonian on March 28, 1909 with a short story with some of these details. The ambulance was equipped with electric lights, and had doors on both sides, and the rear with seats for doctors, nurses and friends. Shepard & Hoffman were the proprietors of the Red Cross Ambulance service. This photo was taken the day before the story at St Vincent's Hospital.

Sorry DG, but it's one of those little things that always drives me nuts. The hospital is not owned by St. Vincent. Properly, it is St. Vincent Hospital.

I suppose it is a losing battle since most people are determined to add an ['s].

Looking back to 1873 thru 2023 Oregonian stories have referred to the hospital as St. Vincent's. After 150 years it looks like it isn't changing.
