About a decade ago private developers tried to get voter approval for a private casino in the old dog track but failed twice. The operators of Spirit Mountain Casino The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde killed any plans of a third try by buying the property and demolishing the building in 2016. I believe they are try to build their casino now.

it over. Hard fought by the Lake Oswego attorneys
representing the Mafia mob.

My grandfather and three friends used to go to the dog races every night. My granddad would walk over to Beaverton Pharmacy from his business around noon and pick up a copy of that night's racing form, then we'd sit on the front porch and figure out which dogs he'd bet on.
He'd owned racing dogs in the past and was quite into the dogs. Granddad would study each dog's history. The form had information about how the dog had performed in previous races, track conditions, and the animal's lineage. It all mattered. He made fairly good money on his wagers.
