Oregonian photo 2/15/49 -- Miss Oregon 1949 Mary Elizabeth Meek & Portland Mayor Dorothy McCullough Lee.

I was just a youngster in 1949, but seems like Lady Mayor's last name was Lee, not McCullough.
DOROTHY LEE McCULLOUGH.
No big deal - - most folks don't even know what I'm talking about!

At the time of her death in February 1981 all news stories show her name as DOROTHY McCULLOUGH LEE.
In February 1976 here husband W. SCOTT LEE Lee died.

Dorothy MCCULLOUGH LEE served as Portland's 42nd and first female mayor from January 1949 until December 1952.
