OPB/Oregon Field Guide is airing an excellent program "Beneath the ash: Uncovering hidden history of Mount St. Helens". Lots of photos/film of not only the volcano, but of those that were up there that day.
They don't show this photo, but many others that I'd never seen before.
We were gone on vacation that week, to Idaho, missed seeing the live eruption. Course if would have scared the holy **** out of us, even here in Portland.
