This smacks of the scandal that brought down Kitzhaber. If the Ds hope to hold onto the Governor's office, they'll need to find someone to replace Kotek next go 'round, that is if scandal doesn't drive Kotek out before then.

The Rs may have the best chance of winning the race to be Oregon's chief executive in four decades. All they'll need to do is find a candidate who isn't from the weirdo, Trumpist MAGAt branch of the party. The big problem for the Rs is whether anyone still exists in the party who isn't a wacked-out MAGAt?
