i never got the chance to meet rocky. r.i.p but at least he never had to see what happened to his beloved portland beavers.

You know, maybe when Rocky died in 1969 it took something from Portland baseball. The franchise died three years later after an abysmal 1972 crowd of 92,000 for the season. Rocky was "Mr. Baseball" in Portland. Without him, it was never the same.
