Mark you calendar for one year after swearing in homelessness will not exist. Many of the people living on the streets choose that lifestyle, and won't enter shelters. Several years ago a local TV reporter offered to take a panhandler to find work, but he declined the offer because it was "his day off".

Who? The guy doesn't even look like a big city mayor.

I'll admit that City of Portland politics no longer interests me. I go into the city around six times a year, and then only because my doctor's office is in the city. Otherwise, I find I can do what I need to do in the burbs. There's little need for the city to even exist.

Curious: What does a big city mayor look like? Goldschmidt? Shrunk? Clark? Adams? Katz? How about Rudy Giuliani? Karen Bass?

Any of those, well maybe not Adams. The rest all exude/exuded confidence. Like their policies or not, you have to admit that all seemed self-assured, they gave the impression they knew what they were doing.

This guy looks like a space cadet. Of course, maybe that's the new thing. Look at the moron who was just elected president.
